Matthew Knell
senior Lecturer in Historical Theology and Church History

MA (Oxford), PhD (Brunel)

After studying History at Oxford, Matthew worked as a missionary for 2 years in Belarus and then for 3 years in Austria. He moved back to the UK to study for his PhD in Historical Theology with Tony Lane at London School of Theology. He then work as a cross-cultural consultant with multi-national companies before joining London School of Theology.

His major research interests are the medieval period and bringing together voices from throughout the history of the church to humbly learn more about the nature and experience of faith. Matthew is married to Ieva from Lithuania and they have two daughters.
