Our next Faith Seeking Understanding church training day is on Saturday 9 November 2024: The Gospel in the World.
What kind of virtues do we need to display as we witness to God’s truth in a world which is apathetic or even opposed to it?
In the Old Testament there are figures who witness in precisely this way and display characteristics that we can learn from as Christians today. The example of these figures, the prophets will be our inspiration and example for the upcoming Faith Seeking Understanding session.
The event will be hosted online and is free.

Building on these biblical themes, we will then turn to how the Church today approaches evangelism and discipleship. We will look at prevalent models of witnessing and evangelism, both to see how they do or don’t embody these biblical virtues and how effective they are for witnessing to a society that is apathetic–at best–to Christianity.
The world today is different from the world of Billy Graham and D. L. Moody; biblical literacy is down, society does not default to Christian values, and church attendance is at an all time low. Together, we will explore new ways of thinking about witnessing to a lost world, what discipleship looks like in this world, and in what new ways people might encounter the Gospel today.
