Our upcoming Faith Seeking Understanding Session is on Saturday 22nd March, titled, ‘Being righteous, doing right. Christian Ethics in a Complex World’.
We live in confusing times of geopolitical conflict and also local conflict as well. Wokeism, cancel culture, are just some of the terms we hear used in social media. These terms need unpacking and understanding through a Christian lens.
This session on 22nd March will help you to understand how to connect your own personal moral choices, and your own personal moral life to those bigger socio-cultural issues that are making headlines every day.
Annette Glaw, lecturer in Christian ethics and pastoral worker at LST, will be exploring the field the field of virtue ethics, how we make the connection of following Christ, living a good life every day, with making moral choices in our personal lives.
David Hilborn, LST’s academic dean, will also join in to explore how personal morality and personal ethical choices connect to social responsibility, how we relate to others in our culture, how we respond to some divided and contested debates that have marked the so- called woke understanding of the world.
Our hope from this session is to inform and enrich the way we live our lives morally under Christ’s guidance and with biblical integrity. We also want to open up the conversation in how we can connect in a meaningful way to the big questions of sociology and politics that are also key theological questions.
Join us online, the event is free! We look forward to seeing you!
