Multimedia and Multisensory Worship

Join LST Music & Worship students to unpack worship which makes use of varied media and technology. Discover biblical and theoretical foundations which underpin practical, usable ideas and skills for assessing and putting together creative worship experiences.

The course will inspire and equip you to facilitate multimedia and multisensory worship in your context. We will combine video teaching and examples with online discussion.

Tutor Bio

Sam Hargreaves is a regular guest lecturer at LST, having formally been on the Music & Worship faculty. He runs Engage Worship with his wife Sara, and they provide a wide range of multimedia resources on their website. He has partnered with organisations such as Spring Harvest and the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity creating videos, prayer stations, music, visual art and printed resources. He has an MA in Contemporary Worship from Kings’ College.

Teaching and learning

Reading will be sent to all students as PDFs during the course, to help you ground your learning in current material. Video teaching with examples will be followed by Zoom online discussions. If you wish to take the practical assessment then you can pay an extra fee for it to be marked.

Assessment option

You can choose to undertake the course with or without assessment. Despite being one of our regular undergraduate modules, only our current students who are already registered with Middlesex University, our validating body, can be awarded academic credits for completing the course.

Dates and format

Students will attend a weekly 50-minute class taking place on Zoom, and a lecture video with reading materials can be accessed at any time during the week.

The online Zoom session is on Fridays 16:10 – 17:00, starting on 11th October until 20th December 2024.

In registering to attend the course we ask you to accept the following terms and conditions:

Cost

  • £200 without assessment (£175 early bird rate, if booked by 2nd September)
  • £325 with assessment (£300 early bird rate, if booked by 2nd September)

This includes all course materials, provided online

  1. I wish to undertake the course for Personal Development reasons only.
  2. I accept that I will receive no academic credits, either from London School of Theology or Middlesex University, if I successfully complete the module (with or without assessment).
  3. If I successfully complete the course with assessment, this may potentially be considered for APEL purposes (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning), but most institutions including LST will consider this in the context of other broader experience also being available.
