Entry Requirements

We welcome applications from instrumentalists or vocalists with no formal music qualifications.

Particular importance is attached to the interview and audition where we will look at your potential to undertake the music requirements of the course. A Music Information Profile that gives specific details of an applicant’s musical experience will be required prior to the audition.

For international students an audition-recording is acceptable should you not be able to attend an audition on campus.

In addition, students must demonstrate the ability to undertake successfully an undergraduate programme of this nature. This will normally mean two A levels plus three different GCSE passes at grade C or above (one GCSE must be English), or equivalent alternatives for students under 21.

Mature students (aged 21 and over) without these qualifications will be considered individually. If you do not meet the above entry requirements, please contact the Engagement Team who will help you to identify a suitable programme of study.

Applicants for whom English is not their first language must take the Secure English Language Test (SELT).
