Since 2001, London School of Theology has offered the MA in Aspects and Implications of Biblical Interpretation entirely by distance learning. Specifically designed with distance learning students in mind, the study material enables you to engage with a range of issues of exegesis and interpretation. Regularly evaluated and revised it remains an innovative and challenging qualification to help prepare you for your next step.
The programme has seen and helped students from a variety of backgrounds: ministers, those in mission situations, church planters, people who simply want to increase their skills in biblical interpretation. Those graduating from the the MA in Aspects and Implications of Biblical Interpretation move into teaching, church planting, doctoral research, and leading churches across the world.

Programme Overview
This programme has been available since 2001 and was recently revalidated and revised in 2017. It is delivered through printed materials although work is currently being undertaken to make these available online. You will also have access to LST’s extensive online library.
The programme is designed to help you develop the analytical and evaluative skills required to engage in responsible biblical interpretation, and also use these to relate Scripture to the contemporary world, your own spirituality, your past experience and future ministry.
Entry Requirements
In normal circumstances students will be required to have at least a UK BA Honours degree at 2:1 level (or equivalent) as well as the necessary English language ability. However, we assess such applications on their merits and so an absence of such a degree should not be a put off from applying. Further information about this can be obtained from the Programme Leader.
Time Commitment
As this programme is entirely self-paced, students can set their own study-rate and deadlines (in agreement with the Programme Leader). This is subject to an overall completion date of 3 years.
The MA in Aspects and Implications of Biblical Interpretation consists of two parts.
There are three exit points on the programme. You can exit at Certificate, Diploma or MA level.
