Rory Balfour

Rory is Lecturer in Old Testament at LST. He teaches modules in Hebrew and Old Testament interpretation. Rory completed his PhD at Durham University. His academic interests lie primarily in the theological interpretation of the Old Testament. That is, he is interested in how the Old Testament can be read in ways which are nourishing for Christian faith, life and theology.

Rory is an ordained priest in the Church of England and in the years prior to his arrival at LST he served his curacy in Gateshead in the Diocese of Durham.
