Shivanthi joined LST in 2020 (in the middle of Covid) on a 1 year secondment as the Academic Registrar and loved LST so much that she stayed on and moved to the role of Academic Secretary and Director of Academic Services (ASDAS) in January 2023.

As ASDAS, Shivanthi is a member of the Executive team at LST and is responsible for quality assurance and academic compliance in relation to key external partners and regulatory bodies, including the Office for Students and it’s designated agencies as well as the School’s validating body Middlesex University.  Shivanthi is also responsible for the ensuring the effective administration of LST’s academic programmes, assessment processes and learning support provision.  Shivanthi is an active member of the Academic Registrars Council (ARC)and the Association of Higher Education Professionals (AHEP).

Shivanthi was born in Sri-Lanka and emigrated to Britain at the age of 10.  She completed a BSc (Hon) in Microbiology followed by a PhD in Immunology from the University of Bristol.  Following post-doctoral positions at the University of Bristol and then at Cancer Research UK (now the Francis Crick Institute), Shivanthi moved into the Higher Education Management sector, first at Cancer Research UK, then UCL and more recently at the Royal Veterinary College where she was Head of Postgraduate administration.  Whilst at the RVC, Shivanthi also led the Academic Quality Department as a secondment opportunity. 

Shivanthi is married to Raji and they have 2 grown up sons Jehan and Dhilan.  Outside work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, loves travelling, Pilates and sings as part of her local church worship group.  She also volunteers as an educational mentor for Refugee UK.
