What to Do on Results Day and After
Results Day is a big moment and can be daunting. Here’s how to prepare for the day itself, what to do once you receive your results, and how to take your next steps with confidence.
Before Results Day: Get Ready
Preparation can take the pressure off when the day arrives.
Get your details together:
Have these ready the night before:
- Your UCAS login details
- Your exam results (once you receive them)
- Any course codes or contact details for your firm and insurance choices
Know your options:
- Review your firm and insurance choices on UCAS.
- Read up on your chosen course and think through any final questions you might have.
- Plan practical issues: budget planning, accomodation, travel, etc.
On Results Day: Check and Act
From 8am:
- Log into UCAS Hub to check the status of your offers.
- If you are unable to see your grades there, check with your school or college.
If your place at LST is confirmed:
- Congratulations! You don’t need to do anything right away, just look out for official confirmation from the university.
- Start preparing for the next chapter: read welcome emails, get your student finance sorted, and think about accommodation and travel.
If your grades are lower than expected:
- Don’t panic. Contact LST directly — we may still be able to offer you a place or suggest a suitable alternative.
- Many Universities offer flexibility on results day.
- Admissions staff are understanding and will consider your overall application, not just your grades.
After Results: Take Your Time
Even when you hold an offer, there is a lot to process on Results Day, so
- Talk through your options with someone you trust — a tutor, teacher, parent, or pastor.
- If you’re waiting for a response from your firm or insurance choice university, stay positive and monitor emails and phone calls.
Changed your mind? Are you considering LST through Clearing?
If you didn’t apply but are now considering LST; or your results are not what you needed for your original choices, you can still apply through Clearing.
What to do:

- Have your results and UCAS Clearing number ready when you contact us
- You may be invited to a short informal interview, often held by phone or video call.
Clearing can be a fresh opportunity to step into a course that’s right for you.
