As the Finance and General-Purpose committee is to the finance and facilities of LST, so the Academic Affairs Committee is to the educational delivery offered by LST. ‘While not interfering with established School processes’, set up in 2017, it ‘reports to the Board on the present state and future of the educational mission of the School, making recommendation as it sees necessary’. The School was most fortunate to have as the AAC’s founding chair, Professor Hugh Williamson, Regius Professor of Hebrew Emeritus, University of Oxford and Student, Christ Church. As he completes his term as chair we offer him our deepest thanks for his wisdom, diplomacy, gentle but firm leadership and his attention to detail.
From the January 2021 AAC meeting Professor Peter Oakes, an LST graduate, now Rylands Professor of Biblical Criticism and Exegesis, University of Manchester, will be the chair. We welcome him and are grateful for his willingness to serve the School and its mission in this way.
