Foundations 2025

For students beginning study in Autumn 2025, the LST Foundations Course has been designed as a three-day course to help you gain knowledge and experience of what studying at LST involves. The course was developed to both support students with study skills and introduce you to key staff and faculty members.

The Foundations Course is particularly for all new students especially:

  • Students returning to education after some years away.
  • Students who feel they would benefit from foundational study skills before commencing undergraduate studies.
  • International students.
  • Students with disabilities

However, anyone joining the college in the first year of the BA course is welcome to sign up, and it is highly recommended.

The programme Includes:

Worship to start the day, a central element in the life of LST.
Practical study skills sessions I.e. essay writing, understanding the virtual learning environment (VLE), understanding the timetable, organising your work, referencing etc.
Expectations and motivations of study, accessing and building up support networks, understanding barriers to learning and study, as well as understanding how faith relates to academic study.

Sessions are interactive and fun, there will be plenty of time to ask all your questions, get to know other students and to enjoy some social activities too.

We would encourage all prospective students to sign up for the LST Foundations Course, particularly if you are feeling nervous or anxious about starting your studies. This course will help you start your studies confidently.

If you’d like to sign up to join us – and have already been offered a firm place – then contact our admissions team at enquiries@lst.ac.uk

Foundations has been a really helpful and engaging experience. It was great meeting LST staff… LST has built an amazing, welcoming and inspiring community! You can see God working.
