John Dennis joined London School of Theology in January 2014. He has lived, studied and taught in Europe, the USA and U.K. for the past 15 years. John’s Ph.D. dissertation and early publications focused on John’s Gospel and particularly the OT and Jewish backgrounds to the Fourth Gospel.

John’s major work was published in 2006 as Jesus’ Death and the Gathering of True Israel: The Johannine Appropriation of Restoration Theology in the Light of John 11.47–52 (Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zum Neuen Testament 2:257; Tübingen: Mohr Siebeck).

John has other publications in peer reviewed journals and chapters in books on issues such as Jesus’ death, Paul’s letter-Spirit contrast and cosmology and theology in 1-2 Peter and Jude. Most recently he has contributed four articles (“Bread,” “Glory,” “Lamb of God” and a major article on the “Death of Jesus”) for the new edition of Intervarsity Press’ The Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels: A Compendium of Contemporary Biblical Scholarship, 2013. John is presently working on a monography concerning discipleship in Mark’s Gospel and the Humanity of Jesus in Hebrews.
