Ian Thompson

Ian is the third of five siblings, born and raised in London by West-Indian parents. He came to faith in his late teens spending his formative years amongst Pentecostal church community. Ian’s association with the school began as a BA course student in the early 90’s. It was after completing studies, Ian found himself embarking on further studies in financial services and a career in the City steadily progressing in commercial / corporate banking, project finance, loan syndications and the institutional banking space. Ian left the banking industry in 2016 for a career break to pursue further opportunities on a self-employed advisory basis helping new startup businesses.

He currently serves the school as a trustee of the school, and its affiliate pension scheme. Ian also chairs the school’s Finance and General Purposes committee.

Ian is an active member of his local church, which he attends with family. His two teenage children are currently at university studying Law and Economics. Ian is a keen gardener and likes the occasional round of golf when time permits.
