Carey is a music producer, song-writer/arranger and professional keyboard player. He has developed unique approaches to improvisation and musicianship, within a worship context.

Previous work includes church music director and head of music in the independent school sector. His playing experience has involved gigs in Europe and Asia. He has played and directed bands in many conferences including Spring Harvest, Roots (Salvation Army), David’s Tent, New Wine. Recent arranging and recording includes BBC radio live and pre-recorded programmes.

Carey is a multi-instrumentalist and other areas of interest include latin percussion, jazz funk, and accompanying gospel and community choirs. He has a special affinity with the Kodaly educational approach, in which he holds an advanced certificate (Dist.).
