This is the course for you!

Join LST Music & Worship students and faculty, as we explore together the gift of writing new songs. We’ll discuss ideas and principles while giving lots of opportunities to start creating and receive expert feedback.

Topics will include: Getting Inspiration, Honing Lyrics, Writing great melodies, Metaphor and imagery in lyrics...

Who will be teaching?

MAIN LECTURERS:

Geraldine (Latty) Luce is a lecturer at LST, bringing extensive experience as a worship minister both in local church and nationally. She is a proli c song-writer, with numerous CDs, published songs, and material in a wide variety of styles. She was signed to Kingsway Music and now shares material through the lucemusic.london site. She has a gift for drawing unique gifts out of other people, encouraging and challenging songwriters beyond their comfort zone. Her latest project Can You See It? is widely available.

Sam Hargreaves is a visiting lecture at London School of Theology and also runs engageworship.org with his wife Sara. As part of the RESOUNDworship.org group he writes and shares worship songs worldwide, including “Jesus, lead us to the Father” and “Come you thankful people”. These have been featured in songbooks and on CDs for events like Spring Harvest and Keswick. Sam and Sara’s newest book Whole Life Worship is available from IVP.

GUEST ARTIST:

Danny O’Callaghan is a singer, songwriter and worship leader living in London. Having been involved in leading worship in local churches for over 15 years, he currently calls Kings Cross Church (KXC) home. Danny served
for 5 years as worship director for David’s Tent and has previously been featured in worship compilations and participated in numerous events around the UK and Europe. In 2016 he released his debut EP, Son of My Father.

Visiting students with assessment will need to submit mini-assignments throughout the year by email, and attend additional training on 23rd and 24th February 2018.
