Introducing Research at LST

Why Research with LST?

LST has an excellent historic reputation for providing research degree programmes. In the last 10 years, 73 students from all over the world have graduated with a PhD degree from LST, in collaboration with Middlesex University.

LST offers you a flexible way of study. You can do a research degree full-time or part-time, on campus or from a distance. This means that you can stay where you are, in your home country, or come on-site to study here at LST—the choice is yours!

Only once a year all students are required to come to the LST campus —two weeks if you are a full-time student and one week as a part-time student. This gives you an opportunity to meet with other research students at LST and have face-to-face training and enrichment activities as well as dedicated time with your supervisory team.

Our supervisors are experts in their fields, and you will have regular meetings with your supervisory team—six times a year for a full-time student and four times a year when part-time. We are in London, with its excellent library resources, and Oxford and Cambridge are not far away. Please explore our Research Pages and get in touch with us for any queries.

Our Research Programmes are a collaborative research initiative between London School of Theology and Middlesex University.

Our Research Strategy

LST’s research strategy prioritises theological disciplines that are both deeply rooted in its tradition and responsive to the needs of the Church, society, and the global theological community.

PRES Results

The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) provides robust, benchmark data from a large number of institutions across the UK and beyond to drive enhancement of the Postgraduate Research Experience.

These results are based on 17 research students who completed this year’s PRES survey.
