Mark Cartledge to step down in August

Professor Mark Cartledge has announced that he will step down as Principal of London School of Theology, for health reasons, at the end of August this year.

It has been agreed that Mark will move to being part-time Research Professor from 1 September. Joan Cartledge is planning to retire from work at LST at the same time as Mark steps down.

All of the LST community are really appreciative of everything that Mark has contributed in his leadership over what will be seven years of service.

We particularly value the way in which Mark led us through challenging situations, especially the Covid crisis. Mark has brought great vision to the role, especially in helping LST make strategic moves forward, with a coherent and well carried out plan. We value the Christian leadership he has given to colleagues and students throughout his time here. We are also very appreciative of Joan’s significant contribution, especially in further developing work with the alumni community.

We are currently taking steps in initiating an appointment process for a new Principal.
